Straight answers about working with BRSi, from pricing structures to onboarding.

Working with BRSi.

What does BRSi do?

BRSi is a healthcare revenue cycle management company founded in 1992. We verify coverage, bill and collect, and prevent and resolve denials for hospitals, health systems, state Medicaid agencies, managed care plans, and federal health programs. Our 100% U.S.-based team develops and uses proprietary technology: OHI Discovery, ARMS PRO®, and DeniaLogic™.

Who does BRSi work with?

We work with four markets. Hospitals and health systems, from large systems to rural hospitals; state Medicaid agencies; managed care organizations; and federal health programs, including military treatment facilities across the Defense Health Agency.

Why do hospitals outsource revenue cycle work?

Staffing is the biggest reason. Qualified revenue cycle staff are hard to find, especially for rural and community hospitals, and larger systems often hire away the people smaller hospitals train. Even hospitals with every seat filled can struggle when new staff haven’t had time to build specialized skills. Outsourcing routine work frees your best people for the accounts that need their judgment, and it cuts the overhead and benefits costs of a larger in-house team.

Can we use one BRSi service without the others?

Yes. Many clients start with the work their staff can’t get to, such as aged A/R, and add services as needed. Each service runs on its own and connects with the others.

What happens to our current revenue cycle staff?

That’s your call. Many clients keep their team and hand us specific work. If you’d rather move your staff to BRSi, we’re open to rebadging them as BRSi employees.

Pricing and technology.

What pricing structures does BRSi offer?

We offer three, so you can choose how you want to work with us.

  • Contingency fee: The most common. Our fee is tied to what we collect or recover for you.
  • Flat fee: A set fee for our staff to handle the work you define.
  • Technology license: Access to our technology, run by your own team.

We’ll recommend a structure once we understand your volume, payer mix, and goals.

Can we license BRSi's technology instead of outsourcing?

Yes, you can license our technology and keep the work in-house. It’s a viable option for fully-staffed organizations that want BRSi’s platforms without paying contingency fees.

Do we have to change our EHR or billing system?

No. ARMS PRO® works with Epic, Oracle Health (Cerner), Meditech, and other major EHR systems. DeniaLogic™ runs on standard 837 and 835 claim files. We set up each engagement to work with the systems you already use.

Onboarding and our team.

How long does onboarding take?

Most onboarding takes 30 to 60 days. The biggest factor is your IT team’s availability. When they can work alongside us, we can be up and running in about 30 days. DeniaLogic™ can start sooner, with a working session on your own claim files that needs no integration.

Who works on our accounts?

BRSi employees based in the U.S. Our team lives in 30+ states, and every specialist who touches your claims works for BRSi. We don’t hand work to offshore subcontractors.

What happens if BRSi finds a problem in our own processes?

We help you fix it where it starts. When we identify recurring issues, we show your team the root cause so it stops costing you revenue. Consulting is built into how we work.
